Ravu was born from a simple frustration: Good looking and good quality glasses were expensive. We initially thought that it was because of the material that went into the product.

So we got in touch with manufacturers. What we learnt shocked us!

The same spectacles that cost 100's of dollars at luxury brands, cost a fraction to make. So it wasn't really the material that cost money. It was the brand premium or brand tax.

What's crazier if you dig deeper is 80% of the whole spectacle industry is owned by Essilor Luxoticca - they own brands 150+ brands including rayban, oakley and the license to sell most products for luxury brand (including Chanel, Prada etc) the list goes on ... .

So we went to their manufacturers to design our own glasses, with the same quality and maybe even a better look.

Because going outdoors, protecting your eyes from the sun while looking effin cool is an amazing feeling. And you can't put a ridiculous price tag to it. 

More so when the price tag is only because one company was able to monopolize the whole industry and in turn control pricing. By purchasing from the above brands, you not only support an evil monopoly, but also are getting ripped off!

We also took it a step further with our photochromic range - for people with prescriptions.

We were tired of switching between prescription glasses and sunglasses, of sacrificing style for function, and of feeling limited by our eyewear.

We believed there had to be a better way. A way to see the world clearly, comfortably, and stylishly, without compromise.

So, we set out on a mission to create the perfect pair of glasses.

After countless hours of research, design, and testing, Ravu's photochromic range was born.
